Lekwa pageants is a Non-Profit organization that celebrates strong,
committed young women and men who are willing to represent the community
as a goodwill ambassador, becoming a role model of today while
strengthening our country for tomorrow. The enemy facing our youth today
multi-layered for example,
• Quality of education affects unemployment, and often leads to alcohol and
drug abuse, which makes core problems harder to identify and leads to poor
decision making.
• With such high numbers of young girls falling pregnant and young boys
become addicted to alcohol and drugs. The Lekwa Pageants aims to shift the
focus of young girls and boys to positive initiatives. Pageant builds selfconfidence, self-esteem and self-belief.
The beginning of Lekwa Pageants
Lekwa Pageants was established in Standerton as a dedicated non-profit initiative to give local youth a powerful, uplifting platform. Observing the complex socio-economic challenges in our community—from high youth unemployment to the risk of substance abuse—we set out to redirect positive energy into constructive leadership and self-growth.
What began as a community gathering has evolved into a celebrated stage that nurtures self-confidence, discipline, and community ambassadorship, empowering our young women and men to shape a brighter future for Mpumalanga.
Miss Lekwa Teen 2017
The 2017 edition of Miss Lekwa Teen marked a pivotal milestone in our pageant history in Standerton. Dedicated to celebrating the power, intelligence, and grace of our younger youth, the competition offered emerging teen ambassadors a stage to develop strong public speaking skills, active community engagement, and lasting self-belief.
Our 2017 titleholder exemplified leadership and dedication throughout her reign, leading charitable campaigns and inspiring peers across Lekwa to dream bigger and serve their local community with pride.
